One of my best friends, Danica, once told me that “coincidences” don’t exist. Naturally, I was resistant. “Are you suuure you’re not overthinking it?”

Well, a coincidence is matter of chance. The word describes events that happen at the same time in a way that is not planned or expected. So at best, a coincidence is a random but peculiar …accident?

That one conversation helped shift the way I perceive the world today. I began to realize that everything happens for a reason. I also started to see how powerful we all are. Sadly, most of us don’t even know it!

When I “stumbled” upon the concept of synchronicity things finally fell into place. Think of synchronicity as a meaningful coincidence.” Even if that meaning isn’t immediately apparent– we won’t see any divine “signs” unless we accept that we do receive them. And that we can train ourselves to put the pieces together more effortlessly. We can also increase the correlation between our thoughts and the external world.

The fact of the matter is: We experience more harmony once we realize that everything has A purpose and happens ON purpose. Share on X
Synchronicity let’s us know we’re on the right track. These moments serve as a reminder of the divinity in our lives.

Sometimes I’ll think about an old friend and they’ll contact me. I explore a subject privately and “out of nowhere” someone recommends a book about it. I decide to pursue a specific venture– then “just so happen” to meet the ideal person to help! This phenomenon always seems to outperform even my wildest imaginations. And the more I pay attention to these daily “coincidences” the more I recognize that there is much more to these “inexplicable” moments. And so, my initial skepticism has been put to rest.

Quick (History and Physics) Facts

In 1952, Swiss psychologist Carl Jung coined the term Synchronicity. After more than 20 years of studying the phenomenon, he said:

Synchronicity is the coming together of inner and outer events in a way that cannot be explained by cause and effect and that is meaningful to the observer

He asserted that we are all linked through our unconscious. He used the term “Collective Unconscious” to describe a part of the unconscious mind that is shared by a society, a people, or all humankind.

In the 1960s Edward Lorenz created a weather-model that gave way to his “Chaos Theory.” Lorenz proved that seemingly insignificant factors can have a huge effect on the overall outcome. The chaos theory explores the effects of small occurrences dramatically affecting the outcomes of seemingly unrelated events (The Butterfly Effect). Everything is connected.

In 1982, French physicist Alain Aspect did an experiment where he took two particles of light (photons) and separated them. His findings show that when one of them was given a different charge (positive or negative) the other particle instantly (without any time delay) changed its charge, too. Regardless of whether the particles one mile or one million miles apart. It’s called Quantum Entanglement.

How to Experience Synchronicity

Sync= together. Chronos= in time.

Synchronicity is essentially the law of unity. Specifically of mind and matter. It can be viewed as an act of God/ The Universe conspiring to help you co-create your own reality. You can think of Synchronicity as a mirror. Whatever you believe will be reflected back at you.

To experience synchronicity all you have to do is pay attention. Share on X Become aware of how you feel inside and observe what’s happening on the outside.

Since our dominant thoughts shape our experiences– you can think about something and see it manifest in your reality. Whether that something is “Good” or “Bad.”

According to Quantum Physics: when you look at something you bring that something into reality. When you turn away it no longer exists. It only appears when you or someone else observes it. Even if that observation is just a visualization in your mind.

Since all our thoughts and emotions carry a specific vibration, when our vibration matches that which we seek we are destined to collide. When the frequency of our thoughts and feelings matches the frequency of what we desire the universe finds a way (conspires!) to welcome what we “want” into our reality.

Think of an old-school radio.

You will only hear your jams when you fine-tune the frequency to find your favorite station. Let’s say you love hip-hop. If you land on the country station and stop turning the dial, you’ll never experience the 808 you’re longing for! Once you realize that you have the power to keep fine-tuning your selection, you can get more of what you like.

The same way a radio receives and emits frequencies, our brains are constantly receiving and distributing information. Oftentimes, we’re not aware of the signals we’re sending out. It’s important to fine-tune your out-put so you can give off “good vibes” (high vibrations) and attract them! As opposed to lingering in low vibrations and setting off the “when it rains it pours” effect. When you emit low frequencies guess what you attract.

Actionable Takeaways

Pay Attention to how your thoughts and feelings affect your experiences!

  1. Get in touch with your true feelings.
And allow yourself to feel! Even if you feel “bad” it’s an indicator of the vibes you are emitting and what you’ll consequently attract. If you resist certain thoughts you will feel worse and attract worse. So if you feel bad, you probably have a thought/belief/perception you need to let go of or tweak. Your feelings will point you to it!
  2. Be mindful of your thoughts, desires, and intentions.
If that’s tough to do, you may have to clear out some mental clutter.
  3. Make no assumptions and just observe what is.
Relinquish the words “should” “maybe” and “probably”.
  4. Don’t cling on to past experiences and old beliefs that don’t serve you.
An open mind heart and mind will take you a long way.
  5. Connect directly with the world around you to expand your sense of awareness.
When I say “directly” I mean you have to go beyond your ego. Remember that your ego is the liaison between God and your sense of self. Because your ego’s main function is to “protect” you it relies solely on your personal experiences. That means it can act like a barrier between you and your Higher Self. Between (insert your name) and what Carl Jung referred to as the Collective Unconscious. Don’t block the InnerG flow that connects you to all things! You have to consciously choose to bypass this “gatekeeper.”

As you continue to expand your perception and your reality– you’ll see the world, and everything in it, as an extension of yourself. Then the ego, our separation from others, becomes less dominant. When you realize how truly connected we all are “everything happens for reason” doesn’t seem so far-fetched.

You’ll feel less isolated and be less compelled to seek refuge in the confines of your “logical mind.” Daily occurrences that you may have overlooked will carry new messages. So if “bad” things seem to be happening you, it’s time to assess what signals your sending out! If positive experiences are coming your way, that means the universe is signally that you are on the right path! Before you know it, you’ll feel like you are experiencing magic and witnessing miracles consistently. As you should!
