I have a series on #IGTV: Everyday Epiphanies where I share the lil lessons that have a big impact on my state of mind + emotional well-being. From personal development to nurturing relationships– I go straight of the dome in hopes to reach your heart!

I’m sharing the videos + transcriptions (with some thoughtful edits) to my virtual home for your consumption 🙂

stop seeking and start doing! ? #InnerGflow

Marie Forleo once said something along the lines of, “We don’t get clarity through thinking, we get it through doing.” I knew in my heart that it was true!

It got me thinking about certain experiences in my life where I really needed to do something in order to figure out if that was the thing for me.

When I first got into Public Relations, I had to really dive into it to figure out that it wasn’t necessarily my ideal professional trajectory. When I started working in the entertainment industry, I had to experience a couple of heartaches to understand that it wasn’t for me either.

We all have different reasons for taking action. If someone tells you why you should or shouldn’t do something, chances are that what you really need is to test it out for yourself to really know. Otto von Bismarck once said, “Only a fool learns from his own mistakes. The wise man learns from the mistakes of others.” Fools learn from experience.”

Maybe I’m a fool but it is by my own experience that I come to a place of clarity.

Sure I’ve learned from other people’s downfalls and I proceed with caution as a result. I definitely steer away from danger! But when it comes to narrowing my path, I’m open to taking a “wrong turn” knowing I will find a better path from there.

I know that I’m not saying anything new by telling you “just do it.” I mean, Nike’s been trying to tell y’all this for years! But I can 1000% say that I have spent years trying to get clear on certain things in my head. The minute that I actually started doing something about it, the clarity comes so much quicker.

Like coming on here (#IGTV) with y’all. Of course, I’ve thought about producing video content before. I’ve overthought it to the ground! Yet, the day that I decided to create and publish– I just did it! I didn’t have a cute little thumbnail. I didn’t have any special effects. And mind you, Instagram does let you do that! IGTV is a platform where I could upload a fully edited, videographer-level video if I wanted. But, what am I here for? I’m here to just do it! I want to connect with y’all. I want to see what y’all are into. I want to explore what I feel comfortable talking about. Where do I challenge myself? Where do I draw boundaries?

I wouldn’t be able to that clarity by just thinking about it. And I know this because I have tried it!

If you take anything away from this, it should be: try your hardest not to procrastinate! Don’t let your perfectionism fool you into thinking that there’s some sort of sophistication that comes with waiting for all your ducks to be in a row. The fact of the matter is: if you have even the faintest idea of something that you may be interested in, just try it. See about it!
